Guy Zurmehly Park

Guy Zurmehly Park serves as a welcoming green space for the Village of Clarksburg, offering residents a place to gather, relax, and enjoy the outdoors. The park sits on land generously donated by Joann Zurmehly, whose contribution made it possible for the village to establish a dedicated community space. Today, the park provides open grassy areas suitable for casual recreation, community use, and seasonal activities. Its quiet setting and accessible layout make it a natural spot for families, walkers, and anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful outdoor environment close to home.

About the Namesake

The park is named in honor of Guy Scott Zurmehly (1954–2020), a lifelong Clarksburg resident and third‑generation farmer whose roots in the community ran deep. Born and raised in Ross County, Guy spent his life working the family farm and took great pride in seeing his son continue that legacy. He was known for his steady presence, strong work ethic, and the value he placed on family traditions and time spent with loved ones. His connection to the land and to the people of Clarksburg made a lasting impact on the community. Dedicating the park in his name reflects the village’s appreciation for his contributions and the values he embodied — commitment, community spirit, and a genuine love for the rural heritage of the area.
